Me, minus a few brain cells.

Tonight at dinner Vee asked me,
"mom, why do you have on
two different earrings?"
Yep.
That's how things have been around here
lately...

Teens, Gorillas & the subsequent Nightmares

Now, don't get me wrong...
i LOVE
having the teenagers crash my pad
for an impromptu
Pah-tay.

love

LOVE

love

However, when the party involves an impromptu gorilla showing up and scaring the knickers off my little peeps...
I must draw the line.

Because, believe it or not
I Do Not Love
having 3 extra bodies sleeping in my
Queen Size
bed.

Just a Flesh Wound... part II

I was doing dishes...
the mountain of dishes.
I think every glass/cup/sippy we owned was in the sink, patiently waiting to be washed.
As I tried to stuff in as many
glasses as I could,
one shattered.
Jon caught it on film.

Man, am I lucky...
it was just a flesh wound.

Friday Flashback

January 2007
Following Tony's birth, my poor war-torn body was covered with bruises.
2-year-old Valerie was very concerned & decided something MUST be done to soothe
"mommies owies"
.

When she discovered I had fallen asleep on the couch with Tony, she sprang into action.
I awoke from my nap to discover that nearly every inch of my exposed skin had been tenderly bandaged with her beloved Princess Bandaids, which she had received for Christmas.
An entire box.
Mike had the foresight to take a picture of Valerie's handiwork.

And just how did I not wake up while nurse Valerie was busy at work?!
THAT is what I call OTM.
(One Tired Mama... or is that Mummy?)

And, just so you know...
I Love This Girl!!!

(but I think you already knew that)

Why is it that Sunday afternoon naps are the best?
(don't answer that question)

The Saga Continues

With Tony still feeling miserable, everyone has joined me in "comfort & cuddle" time...
thank you Mike, Jon, McKay, Courtney & Valerie
oh, and Murphy.
Just to let you know... THIS is what happens

when mom feels like
i just have one thing to say...

Can Someone PLEASE Come Shovel My Kitchen???

What I've Been Up To...

You might be thinking...
Christmas Cards
Cinnamon Walnuts
Shopping
Decking the Halls
Teacher Gifts
NOPE.
None of the Above.
THIS is what I've been up to...
Watching poor Tony carrying his "puke bucket" around for 3 days... what a trooper.
Taking Tony to the hospital for dehydration... mean, nasty, ugly flu.
Helping Tony navigate his first hospital visit, which included rectal thermometers, chest x-rays, IV fluids (after 2 failed attempts) and urine output monitoring.
Somehow I don't think he will be anxious to make a return visit, in spite of the Elmo sticker.
Feeling happy when Tony's 5 hour ordeal ended with a much perkier boy & a purple popsicle (that is, until he threw it up immediately upon arriving home)
Snuggling. Kissing. Comforting. Commiserating.

You know, sometimes a girls' gotta do what a girls' gotta do.

Good Morning Moon(shine)

5:30 am everyday...
waking up BEFORE it is light outside

it's just not right

And why would I get up?
I get up because I love my son.
I love my son because he makes good decisions (among many other things).
His good decisions mean that he has class at 6:30 in the morning.
Having class at 6:30 in the morning allows him to fit seminary into his schedule.
Jon, I enjoy seeing you first thing in the morning...
even if it is still DARK outside.
You're a good son.

and a stone-cold fox.
with a gorgeous tan.
